UFA Webinar: Ocean Acidification and Alaska fisheries: what do we know about conditions in our waters and how might species respond?
Tuesday, December 7, 5:00 PM AKST
Description: Alaska is uniquely susceptible to ocean acidification which poses risk to marine species and the fisheries that depend on them. Scientists have been tracking conditions and trends around the state since 2011, and are now developing models and forecasts to help Alaskans anticipate what’s to come. This webinar will cover what we’ve learned so far in the Bering Sea and Gulf of Alaska, as well as how different species of fish are responding to elevated acidification in the lab. There will be ample time for Q&A and we look forward to an interactive session that addresses questions of most interest to fishermen.
