UFA IS HERE TO HELP YOU VOTE FISH!
UFA’s 2026 I Vote Fish campaign is now underway. By voting in the Primary and General elections, YOU are helping choose fisheries policy for the future. Alaska’s governor decides who runs ADF&G, who sits on the Board of Fisheries, and who sets the agenda for the North Pacific Fishery Management Council.
Alaska’s lone congressional seat is a two-year term. Alaska’s two senators serve six year terms with one being up in 2026. Alaska’s congressional delegation is responsible for setting federal budgets and passing overarching federal legislation that directly and indirectly impacts your fishing business.
All of Alaska’s state representatives and half of the state senate seats are up on the ballot in 2026. State legislators confirm the governor’s candidates for commissioners and the Board of Fisheries, help set the ADF&G budget, and pass legislation that impacts Alaska’s fishing and processing sectors.

The Primary Election is a “PICK ONE” election where you get 1 vote per race and the top 4 go on to the General Election ballot.
The General Election is a “RANKED CHOICE” election where you can vote for one or rank multiple candidates per race and your rankings

✅ August 3-17: Early & absentee in-person voting locations OPEN
✅ August 8: Absentee ballot by-mail request DEADLINE
✅ August 17: Electronic absentee request DEADLINE
✅ August 18: In-person PRIMARY ELECTION DAY, polls open 7 am – 8 pm
